International arrivals to Vietnam contracted 15.2 percent year-on-year to 15.0 thousand in November of 2021, slowing from a 28.8 percent tumble in the prior month, amid further easing of COVID-19 restrictions, with the government launching a new tourism campaign and welcoming foreign tourists back into the country or the first time since March 2020. Visitors mainly declined from Asia (-23.4 percent), mostly China (-48.6 percent), and South Korea (-7.6 percent); and Australia (-6.0 percent). By contrast, visitors from America rose (8.7 percent), mainly from other American countries excluding the US and Canada. Also, those from Europe grew (75.6 percent), of which, the UK (17.9 percent) and France (130.6 percent).
