The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is a holding company. The Company is engaged in providing property and casualty insurance products and services. The Company operates through three segments: Commercial Lines, Personal Lines and Other. The Commercial Lines segment includes commercial multiple peril, commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, and other commercial coverages, such as management and professional liability, marine, Hanover Programs, specialty industrial and commercial property, monoline general liability and surety. The Personal Lines segment includes personal automobile, homeowners, and other personal coverages, which includes personal umbrella, inland marine (jewelry, art), fire, personal watercraft, and other miscellaneous coverages. The Other segment includes Opus Investment Management, Inc. (Opus), which markets investment management services to institutions, pension funds and other organizations.
