Retail sales in Thailand rose 4.3 percent year-on-year in November of 2022, rebounding sharply from a downwardly revised 0.6 percent drop in October. Thailand Retail Sales Decline for 1st Time in 14 Months
Retail sales in Thailand fell 0.8 percent year-on-year in October of 2022, shifting from an upwardly revised 12.54 percent growth in September. It was the first decline since August of 2021, which was recorded at 6.8 percent fall, as sales fell for both durable goods (-4.05 percent vs 0.49 percent) and other retail (-8.14 percent vs 16.62 percent). At the same time, sales slowed down for department stores, supermarkets and general stores (12.9 percent vs 17.17 percent) and motor vehicles and automotive fuel (2.26 vs 16.4 percent). Meanwhile, sales rebounded for non-durable goods (6.44 percent vs -1.52 percent). On a monthly basis, retail activity dropped 3.4 percent in October, following a downwardly revised 1.2 percent fall in September.

Thailand Retail Sales Grow the Least in 5 Months
Retail sales in Thailand rose by 12.4% year-on-year in September of 2022, slowing sharply from an upwardly revised 22.3% growth in the previous month. It was the slowest expansion in retail activity since April, as sales of non-durable goods declined (-1.7% vs 9.4% in August). At the same time, sales slowed down for motor vehicles and automotive fuel (16.3% vs 30.7%); others retail (16.4% vs 25.6%); durable goods (0.3% vs 6.2%); and sales in department stores, supermarkets and general stores (17% vs 18.5%). On a monthly basis, retail sales dropped by 1.3% in September, after a 3.3% gain in August.
