The Central Bank of Paraguay kept its policy rate on hold at 8.5% for the sixth consecutive decision in its March 2023 meeting and stated it will continue to monitor the local and international environment to make future decisions. At the domestic level, annual inflation stood at 6.9% in February, below the rate of the prior month (7.8%). Meantime, inflation expectations in March for the end of 2023 remained at 5%, still above the 4% target in the monetary policy’s horizon. The Monetary Policy Committee stated that although inflation has been showing a downward trajectory, convergence to the target is subject to eventual risks that could derive from a highly uncertain outlook. source: Banco Central del Paraguay
