Malaysia's foreign direct investment dropped to MYR 12.3 billion in Q3 of 2022 from MYR 17.3 billion in Q4 of 2021. This was the smallest amount since Q3 of 2021, amid soaring inflation, high interest rates, and the impact of the war in Ukraine. Manufacturing remained the largest sector of FDI, followed by services largely in financials and construction.
