Italy Industrial Sales Fall the Most in 9 Months
Industrial sales in Italy shrank by 1.2 percent over a month in September of 2022, compared to a downwardly revised 0.4 percent decline in the previous month. Italy Industrial Sales Contracts for 2nd Month
Industrial sales in Italy edged down by 0.1 percent over a month in July of 2022, easing from an upwardly revised 0.4 percent decline in the previous month and marking the first time sales contracted for two consecutive months since April of 2020. Demand for industrial goods accelerated its decrease in the foreign market (-0.6 percent vs -0.1 percent in June), while that for the domestic market stagnated (vs -0.4 percent). On a yearly basis, industrial sales rose by 16.3 percent, the lowest since December 2021 and easing from the 17.9 percent jump in the prior month.

Italy’s industrial sales fell by 0.2 percent over a month in June of 2022, following downwardly revised 1.2 percent increase in the previous month and marking the first contraction since December of 2021. Demand for industrial goods dropped both in the domestic market (-0.3 percent vs 1.4 percent in May), and in the foreign market (-0.1 percent vs 1.1 percent). On a yearly basis, industrial sales rose by 18 percent, easing from the 23.6 percent jump in the previous period.
