Indonesia Tourist Arrivals Soar 337% YoY in November
Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia jumped 336.6 percent year-on-year to 657.3 thousand in November 2022, boosted by further easing of COVID-19 restrictions and the impact of the G20 summit. The number of arrivals by air in Bali, the center of the Indonesian tourism industry, skyrocketed by 4,783,650 percent to 287 thousand. Also, tourists reaching Jakarta jumped 499.5 percent to 113.7 thousand. In addition, the number of arrivals by ship in Batam soared 34,180.3 percent to 80.2 thousand. Tourists from Singapore soared 6,698.0 percent while those from Malaysia and Singapore respectively climbed 152.0 percent and 808.3 percent. For the first eleven months of the year, tourist arrivals surged 228.3 percent to 4.58 million.

Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia jumped 364.31 percent year-on-year to 678.5 thousand in October 2022, boosted by further easing of COVID-19 restrictions and intense preparation for the G20 summit in November. The number of arrivals by air in Bali, the center of the Indonesian tourism industry, skyrocketed 15,257.5 percent to 446.7 thousand. Also, tourists reaching Jakarta jumped 721.4 percent to 112.5 thousand. In addition, the number of arrivals by ship in Batam soared 49,110.1 percent to 77.7 thousand. Tourists from Malaysia soared 140.5 percent while those from Singapore climbed 7,297.3 percent. For the first ten months of the year, tourist arrivals surged 215.2 percent to 3.92 million.

Indonesia September Tourist Arrivals Skyrocket
Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia soared 10,768.5 percent year-on-year to 538.3 thousand in September 2022, boosted by further easing of COVID-19 restrictions and intense preparation for the G20 summit later this year. On top of that, the government has extended visa-free visits for tourists from ASEAN countries and other 43 countries. The number of arrivals by air in Bali, the center of the Indonesian tourism industry, stood at 291.1 thousand after showing no tourist arrivals in September 2021; and those reaching Jakarta came at 111.0 thousand (2,620.7 percent). In addition, the number of arrivals by ship in Batam stood at 77.9 thousand (60,350.4 percent). Tourists from Malaysia soared 56,016.7 percent while those from Singapore climbed 114,557.3 percent. For the first nine months of the year, tourist arrivals surged 2,530.6 percent to 2.27 million.
