Consumer prices in the German state of Bavaria rose 7.2 percent year-on-year in March 2023, easing from an 8.8 percent increase in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since August 2022, mainly due to decreases in energy prices. By contrast, the cost of food continued to rise at a sharp rate.
