Bulgaria Industrial Output Falls Sharply in March
Industrial output in Bulgaria shrank 9% year-on-year in March 2023, the third month of fall in industrial activity, and from 1.8% drop in the previous month. Bulgaria Industrial Output Contracts for 2nd Month
Industrial output in Bulgaria dropped to 1.8% year-on-year in February 2023, the second month of fall in industrial activity, although easing from 4.3% decline in the previous month. Output fell softer for both mining & quarrying (-10.7% vs -18.1% in January) and electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-5% vs -28.9%). Meanwhile, output declined for manufacturing (-0.3% vs 4%). On a monthly basis, industrial production grew 0.6% in February, rebounding from 3% fall in the previous month.

Bulgaria Industrial Output Contracts for 1st Time in Nearly 2Y
Industrial output in Bulgaria declined to 4.3 percent year-on-year in January 2023, reversing from a 2.1 percent growth in the previous month. This was the first fall in industrial activity since February 2021, as output for mining & quarrying fell sharply (-18.1 percent vs 1.8 percent in December 2022) while output for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply dropped further (-28.9 percent vs -28.6 percent). Meanwhile, output slowed for manufacturing (4 percent vs 10.8 percent). Compared to the previous month, industrial production declined 3 percent in January 2023, after a 0.8 percent fall in the previous month.
