Industrial production in Bulgaria increased 9.7 percent year-on-year in October of 2021, the same as in the previous month, and marking the 8th consecutive month of growth in industrial activity. Output slowed for manufacturing (3.5 percent vs 5.9 percent in September) and mining & quarrying (19.1 percent vs 20 percent) but quickened for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (52.3 percent vs 29.6 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production grew 0.7 percent, slowing from an upwardly revised 1.3 percent rise in the prior month.

Bulgaria Industrial Output Eases in September
Industrial production in Bulgaria edged down to 10.5 percent over a year in September of 2021 from a downwardly revised 10.6 percent in the previous month. Still, it was the 7th straight month of growth in industrial activity. Output slowed for manufacturing (7.1 percent vs 8.8 percent in August) but accelerated for mining and quarrying (20.1 percent vs 15.7 percent) and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (28.5 percent vs 19.6 percent). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production grew 1.6 percent, easing from an upwardly revised 2.1 percent increase in August.
