Brazil Auto Sales Edge Higher in April
Brazil’s auto sales edged 0.3 percent higher month-over-month to 147.2 thousand units in April of 2022, the highest volume since December and compared with an 8.2 percent slump in the same month in 2021. Considering the first four months of the year, sales fell 24.4 percent when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year to 482.9 units. At the same time, exports of vehicles increased by 15.2 percent on the month and 32.3 percent on the year to 44.8 thousand units.
Brazil Auto Sales Gain Robust Momentum in March
Brazil auto sales jumped 10.9 percent month-over-month to 146.8 thousand units in March of 2022, the highest sales volume since last December and compared with a 22.5 percent slump in the same month in 2021. Considering the first quarter of the year, sales fell 23.2 percent to 405.7 thousand units. At the same time, exports of vehicles increased 5.8 percent over last year to 38.9 thousand units and were up 12.8 percent year-on-year considering the three months to March, at 108.1 thousand units.
Brazil Car Sales Make Shy Comeback in February
Brazil auto sales rose by 2.2 percent month-over-month to 129.3 thousand units in February of 2022, following a 38.9 percent slump in the previous month but fell 22.8 percent from the same month in 2021. At the same time, exports of vehicles jumped 49.6 percent over the month to 41.4 thousand units and were up 25.4 percent on an annual basis.
