Tourist arrivals in Vietnam were up 24.4 percent from a year earlier to 1.71 million in December 2019, with visitors increasing from Asia (28.9 percent), mostly from China (37.7 percent), South Korea (30.9 percent), Taiwan (25.1 percent), and Japan (12.8 percent); Europe (7.1 percent), namely from Russia (11.8 percent), France (4.2 percent), and Germany (2.8 percent); and America (12.1 percent), mainly from the US (13.5 percent). Meanwhile, visitors from Australia continued to fall (-4.3 percent). Considering 2019 full year, tourist arrivals increased 16.2 percent from a year ago to an all-time high of 18.0 million.
