Turkish Tourism Revenues Drop 11.4% YoY in Q1
Turkey's tourism revenues fell 11.4 percent from a year earlier to USD 4.10 billion in the first quarter of 2020. The number of departing visitors declined 15.1 percent to 5.64 million. Tourism expenditure, which is the expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident in Turkey and visited abroad, dropped 25.6 percent to USD 7.93 million.

Turkish Tourism Revenues Jump 20.6% in Q4
Turkey's tourism revenues surged 20.6 percent from a year earlier to USD 7.89 billion in the fourth quarter of 2019, of which 83.3 percent of this income came from foreign visitors, while 16.7 percent was obtained from citizens resident abroad. The number of departing visitors increased 12.3 percent to 10.84 million, while the number of Turkish citizens visited abroad rose 14.1 percent to 1.53 million. Tourism expenditure, which is the expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident in Turkey and visited abroad, went up 6.9 percent to USD 1.23 billion.

Turkey's tourism revenues surged 22 percent from a year earlier to USD 14.03 billion in the third quarter of 2019, of which 82.1 percent of this income came from foreign visitors, while 17.9 percent was obtained from citizens resident abroad. The number of departing visitors increased 15 percent to 12.61 million, while the number of Turkish citizens visited abroad jumped 30.2 percent to 2.95 million. Tourism expenditure, which is the expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident in Turkey and visited abroad, increased 1.8 percent to USD 1.23 billion.
