Exports from Thailand declined by 2.57 percent year-on-year to USD 18.56 billion in April 2019, after a 4.88 percent drop in a month earlier. The latest reading was roughly in line with market consensus of a 2.5 percent drop, mostly due to lower sales of electronic products. Exports to China fell by 5 percent, while those to the US grew 4.7 percent. Considering the January to April period, exports contracted 1.86 percent year-on-year. The government recently revised lower 2019 export growth outlook to 2.2 percent from an earlier projections of 4.1 percent in the wake of rising trade tensions between the US and China. Exports in Thailand averaged 10682.16 USD Million from 1991 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 22794.45 USD Million in August of 2018 and a record low of 1997 USD Million in February of 1991.
