The Tengri Partners Kazakhstan Services PMI decreased to 43.9 in November 2020 from 49.6 in the previous month, signalling a much faster rate of contraction, and one that was sharp overall, amid ongoing quarantine measures. Output shrank faster due to weak demand and fewer sales, while the latest falls in new orders were much less severe than those seen at the height of quarantine measures in the spring. At the same time, the rate of job shedding eased slightly from October but was still sharp. On the price front, input prices rose at the most marked rate on record, amid reports of greater fuel and utility costs, as well as unfavourable exchange rates. As a result, output prices increased for first time in six months. Looking ahead, business sentiment improved, due to hopes of a timely end to the COVID-19 pandemic, the subsequent relaxation of lockdown measures and an economic recovery. source: Markit Economics
