In 2017, the Faroe Islands trade surplus widened by 2.4 percent from the previous year to DKK 1,491 million, the largest trade surplus on record. Exports rose by 7.4 percent to an all-time high of DKK 8,650 million and imports increased by 10 percent to a record DKK 7,257 million, the biggest gain since 2012.
