Estonia Producer Prices Change at 1.60 percent  
Estonian producer prices increased by 1.6 percent year-on-year in April 2019, faster than a 0.4 percent rise in the previous month. It was the highest producer inflation since December last year, as cost of manufacturing went up faster (0.5 percent vs 0.1 percent in March), mainly due to increases in prices of manufacture of food products, fuel oils, and wood products. In addition, cost of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rebounded sharply (7.0 percent vs -3.7 percent). Meanwhile, producer inflation was steady for mining and quarrying (at 5.2 percent) and cost of water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation was unchanged (the same as in March). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.7 in March, after a flat reading in a month earlier.

Estonia's industrial production rose 2.4 percent from a year earlier in March 2019, easing from a downwardly revised 4.0 percent growth in the previous month. It was the weakest growth in industrial output since October last year, as mining production fell strongly (-14.7 percent vs 7.5 percent in February) and output of electricity, steam and hot water supply dropped faster (-25.2 percent vs -14.9 percent). On the other hand, manufacturing output expanded faster (7.7 percent vs 6.7 percent), boosted by increases in the manufacture of food products, computers and fabricated metal products. On a monthly basis, industrial production went up 0.6 percent in March, compared to an upwardly revised 1.6 percent drop in February.

Estonia GDP Annual Growth Rate at 4.20 percent  
The Estonian economy advanced 4.2 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2018, following a downwardly revised 4.0 percent growth in the previous period. It was the highest annual growth rate since the last quarter 2017, amid a strong rise in fixed investment (17.7% vs 4.2% in Q3). Also, private consumption rose faster (5.1% vs 4.5%) and government spending rebounded (2.2% vs -0.8%). Meantime, net exports contributed negatively to the GDP growth, as imports rose by 6.1 percent (vs 6.6%), while exports grew softer at 4.9 percent (vs 1.9%).On the production side, the main contributors to economic growth were construction; manufacturing; professional, scientific & technical activities; information & communication; and transportation & storage. In 2018, the economy grew 3.9 percent, compared to a 4.9 percent growth in 2017. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the GDP rose by 2.2 percent in Q4, accelerating from a downwardly revised 0.3 percent growth in Q3.
