Egypt's unemployment rate fell to 7.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared to 8 percent in the same period a year ago and 7.3 percent in the previous quarter. It was the lowest jobless rate since comparable data began in 2003, amid the continued return of normal daily activities, after the end of the closure decisions and partial curfew taken by the state to limit the spread of coronavirus. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 163 thousand to 2.166 million.
