The Central Bank of Congo lowered its base interest rate by 500bps to 9 percent on April 30th of 2019, bringing borrowing costs to its lowest since December of 2016. The decision comes after inflation has stabilised at one digit in the first months of 2019. Annual inflation rate has been falling since August of 2017, when it rose above 70%.
