Dutch GDP Grows 0.2% in Q3


In the third quarter of 2013, Dutch economy came out of recession and grew 0.2 percent quarter-on-quarter. Preliminary estimates showed the GDP advanced 0.1 percent. Annual growth was also revised upwards to -0.4 percent.

Gross fixed capital formation decelerated in the third quarter and grew 1.4 percent qoq (1.6 percent in the previous three-month period). Exports slowed sharply from a 0.8 percent growth rate in Q2 to 0.1 percent in Q3.

Government consumption shrank for the fourth straight quarter, although at a slower pace (-0.1 percent) and household consumption contracted 0.8 percent (slightly better than -0.9 percent recorded in the previous quarter).
 
Year-on-year, the economy contracted 0.4 percent, up from a preliminary estimate of -0.6 percent.
