Japan's jobless rate remained unchanged in October at 4 percent and the number of employed increased by 0.7 percent from previous year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications reported on November 28th.
The number of unemployed persons in October 2013 was 2.63 million, a decrease of 80 thousand or 3.0 % from the previous year.
The number of employed persons in October 2013 was 63.66 million, an increase of 450 thousand or 0.7 % from the previous year.
The jobs-to-applicants ratio stood at 0.98 in October 2013, rising from 0.95 in the previous month to hit its highest since December 2007.
The number of new job offers rose 0.6 percent in October from the previous month, and was up 10.8 percent compared with a year earlier.
