In the third quarter of 2013, Spanish economy expanded 0.1 percent when compared to the previous quarter and matching the initial estimate.
In the third quarter, household final consumption expenditure increased 0.4 percent, recovering from a five quarter-long period of contraction. Gross fixed capital formation increased 0.2 percent, up from a decline of 2 percent in the second quarter.
By output sectors, industrial output rose by 0.8 percent, up from a 0.5 percent expansion in the previous quarter and services grew 0.5 percent. In contrast, construction went down by 1.5 percent, while agriculture shrank 1 percent, down from a 0.4 percent expansion in the second quarter.
Spanish economy contracted 1.1 percent on an annual basis slightly better than a preliminary estimate of a 1.2 percent drop and up from -1.6 percent a quarter earlier.
