Compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons fell 1.1 percent to 1.87 million in September of 2015 from 1.89 million in the previous month. Meanwhile, employment went up 0.1 percent to 40.05 million people from 40.00 million.
Compared with September of 2014, unemployment fell 10.5 percent from 2.09 million people while employment rose 0.5 percent from 39.84 million people.
Youth unemployment rate fell to 7 percent, down from 7.1 percent in August and 7.5 percent a year earlier.
Separate data from the Labour Office showed the number of unemployed persons fell by 5000 to 2.788 million in October. The unemployment rate remained steady at a record low of 6.4 percent.
