The number of unemployed people decreased to 434 thousand, 24 thousand less than in the same period of 2012. Unemployment rate within both men and women slightly decreased and stood at 9.7 percent and 10.2 percent respectively. The unemployment for the age group of 15-24 was recorded at 27.4 percent, 2 percentage points less than a year ago, while the unemployment rate of those aged 25-54 was 0.7 percentage points lower and was recorded at 8.6 percent. In contrast, the rate for persons aged 55-64 increased by 0.5 percentage point to 7.7 percent.
54.3 percent of unemployed people had been searching for a job for one year or more. The average duration of unemployment was 19.1 months.
In July-September, the number of employed people was 3.99 million, 54 thousand more than a year ago. The employment rate of people aged 15–74 increased by 0.8 percentage points and stood at 52.3 percent.
