Year-on-year, cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 10.73 percent, following a 9.71 percent growth in August. Additional upward pressure came from: Hotels, cafes and restaurants (+13.99 percent); miscellaneous goods and services (+11.23 percent); recreation and culture (+10.38 percent); furnishings and household equipment (+9.42 percent); housing and utilities (+8.28 percent); and health (+7.42 percent).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.89 percent, following a 0.40 percent increase in the previous month. Higher prices of transport (+1.93 percent); miscellaneous goods and services (+1.93 percent); food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.24 percent); furnishings and household equipment (+1.16 percent); and recreation and culture (+1.16 percent) led the growth. By contrast, clothing and footwear prices declined by 2.76 percent.
