The number of unemployed persons fell by 4.4 percent over the previous month (-143 thousand). Youth unemployment rate decreased to 40.5 percent from a revised 43.1 percent in June.
44 thousand new jobs were created in July. As a result, 22.48 million people were employed in July, (+ 0.2 percent), bringing the employment rate up to 56.3 percent from 56.2 percent in June.
The number of inactive persons rose 0.7 percent (+99 thousand), bringing the inactivity rate to 35.9 percent.
