Mexican Economy Expands 0.5% QoQ in Q2


The Mexican economy advanced 0.5 percent on quarter in the three months to June, slightly up from a 0.4 percent expansion in the first quarter and better than market expectations.

The services sector led the expansion, up 0.9 percent, the highest gain in a year. In contrast, the industrial sector posted no growth after shrinking 0.2 percent in the previous period while the agricultural sector contracted 1.6 percent, following a 3.4 percent rise in the first three months of the year. 

Year-on-year, the GDP grew 2.2 percent , slowing from a 2.6 percent expansion in the first quarter.
