Brazil's Annual Inflation Rate Highest Since November 2003


Consumer prices in Brazil increased 9.56 percent year-on-year in July of 2015. It is the fifth consecutive month with inflation rate above 8 percent.

Month-on-month, the prices increased 0.62 percent, easing from 0.79 rise reported in the previous month. The biggest increases were reported for housing (+1.52 percent, +0.86 percent in June), Household articles (+0.86 percent, +0.72 percent in June), Health and personal care (+0.84 percent, +0.91 percent in June), and Food and beverages (+0.65 percent, +0.63 percent in June). Only the cost of Apparel decreased (-0.31 percent).
