Irish Unemployment Rate at 9.7% in July


Irish seasonally adjusted jobless rate remained unchanged at 9.7 percent in July of 2015 for the third consecutive month. it is the lowest figure since January of 2009.

The number of persons unemployed was 208,900, an increase of 300 on a monthly basis and a decrease of 32,400 when compared to July 2014.

While unemployment rate for males remained unchanged at 10.8 percent from June of 2015, for females was steady at 8.4 percent. The number of males unemployed was 127,700 (-200 when compared to June), while the number of females unemployed increased by 500 to 81,200.

Youth unemployment rate was 20.2 percent, up from 19.9 percent last month.
