Year-on-year, cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 20.7 percent (22.4 percent in May) and prices of housing and utilities went up 9.4 percent (9.7 percent in May). Transport prices were up 11.9 percent (the same as in May) while cost of recreation and culture rose 18 percent (from 17.3 percent).
Month-on-month, inflation slowed for the fifth consecutive period to 0.2 percent, the lowest since August of 2014. Cost of food declined 0.4 percent (+0.1 percent in May) and nonfood inflation slowed to 0.3 percent (0.5 percent in May). In contrast, prices of services increased 1 percent compared with 0.5 percent in May.
