Indonesia Leaves Monetary Policy Unchanged

The Bank Indonesia left its benchmark interest rate on hold at 7.5 percent at its June 18th meeting as widely expected.

Policymakers said current policy stance is consistent with efforts to keep inflation at 4 ± 1% in 2015 and 2016, as well as narrowing the current account deficit to 2.5-3% of GDP in the medium term.

The lending facility and the deposit facility rate were left unchanged at 8.0 percent and 5.5 percent respectively.
