Russia's Trade Surplus Narrows in April


Russia's trade surplus fell to $14.2 billion in April from $16.1 billion the previous month as exports declined slightly and imports increased.

In April, exports declined to $44 billion from $44.2 billion reported in the previous month.

In April, imports rose to $29.8 billion from $28.1 billion reported in the previous month.

While Russian gasoline exports rose 50.7 percent mom to 473.019 tonnes in April, gasoil and fuel oil shipments fell by 18.0 percent and 5.6 percent, respectively. Also, in April, major steelmakers exports declined 16 percent. Oil and natural gas account for 58 percent of total exports.
