Japan GDP Growth Revised up to 1%


Japan's economy advanced 1 percent in the first three months of 2015, revised up from an initial estimate of 0.6 percent growth. This was a second quarter of expansion, following a recession last year.

In the first estimate, private consumption and business spending rose 0.4 percent. In the revision business spending grew 2.7 percent, versus preliminary reading of at 2.1 percent.

The first quarter gross domestic product figure translated into an annualised expansion of 3.9 percent against a preliminary reading of 2.1 percent.
