Year on year, food prices grew 5.9 percent. The biggest increases were recorded for: potatoes (130 percent); carrots (75 percent); white beans (32 percent); black beans (26 percent); other types of beans (19 percent) and fruits (19 percent).
Among non food products the highest price increases were registered for domestic servants (11.4 percent); rent (10.4 percent); other types of labor (10.1 percent) and health care (8.04 percent). On the other hand, the price of airplain tickets declined 5.91 percent and of new cars was down 2.5 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, the index changed 0.37 percent, 0.18 percentage points below the rate of 0.55 percent registered in April. Including May´s figure, the cumulative index in the year was recorded at 2.88 percent, above the rate of 2.24 percent, registered in the same period of the previous year.
