Exports increased 4.1 percent over the previous month. Sales of computers, electronics and electrical equipment continued to rise and shipments of intermediate goods, pharmaceuticals and oil rebounded after a March decrease. Exports of transport equipment increased slightly again, after their strong recovery in March. Following two months of decline, exports to the EU rose 8.2 percent. Sales to the United States were up 14 percent while shipments to Asia fell 8 percent
Imports increased 3.8 percent in April. Purchases of energy products and mechanical equipment continued to increase and those of intermediate goods, pharmaceuticals, computer, electronic and electrical equipment reverted its downward trend. Imports from the EU increased 5.8 percent, from Asia were up 12 percent while purchases from the United States remained unchanged.
