Germany exports amounted to € 94.5 billion and imports to € 76.4 billion in April 2013. Germany dispatched € 52.8 billion of goods to the Member States of the European Union, while it received commodities worth € 49.4 billion from those countries. Compared with April 2012, dispatches to the EU countries increased by 4.7 percent and arrivals from those countries by 6.8 percent.
A total of € 34.5 billion (+4.3 percent) was dispatched to the Euro Area countries in April 2013, while the value of the commodities received from those countries was € 34.5 billion (+5.4 percent).
In April 2013, commodities totaling € 18.4 billion (+5.6 percent) were dispatched to EU countries not belonging to the Euro area, while the value of the commodities which arrived from those countries was € 14.9 billion (+10.1 percent). Compared with April 2012, exports to third countries (outside the EU) increased by 13.6 percent and imports from those countries by 2.4 percent.
