There were 3.161 million unemployed persons in April, 1.2 percent less than in March. In the same period, 22.42 million persons were employed, 0.7 percent more than in March and bringing the employment rate to 56.1 percent.
Youth unemployment rate (aged 15-24) was 40.9 percent, -1.6 percentage points than in the previous month.
Meanwhile, the inactive population decreased 0.7 percent to 13.98 million.
Compared with April 2014, unemployment fell 0.5 percent while employment went up 1.2 percent.
