The Mexican economy expanded 0.4 percent on quarter in the first three months of 2015, down from a 0.7 percent expansion in the previous period but above market expectations.
Quarter-on-quarter, services sector went up by 0.5 percent from 0.9 percent in the previous three months. Agriculture expanded 3.0 percent after a revised 1.0 percent contraction in the precedent period. In contrast, the industrial sector shrank 0.2 percent, compared to a revised 0.5 percent growth in Q4 2014.
Year-on-year, the economy expanded 2.5 percent, slightly down from a 2.6 growth in the previous quarter.
