Polish GDP Growth Beats Expectations in Q1

In the first three months of 2014, Poland’s economy advanced a seasonally adjusted 1.1 percent over the previous quarter, up from a revised 0.7 percent increase in the previous period.

Preliminary estimates showed the GDP expanded at its fastest pace in eleven quarters.

Year-on-year, the economy increased 3.3 percent, faster than a 2.7 percent growth rate in the last three months of 2013 and beating a 3 percent estimate from the Finance Ministry.

The ministry also said earlier in May that he expects full-year GDP growth to come in at 3.3 percent in 2014.
