Brazil Inflation Rate Rises to 6.3% in April
Brazilian annual consumer prices increased 6.3 percent in April from 6.15 percent in the previous month, the highest level in ten months.
On a monthly basis, inflation slowed to 0.67 percent from 0.92 percent reported in March. Prices of foods and beverages rose 1.2 percen after increasing at a 1.92 percent pace in March as staples like tomatoes and cassava came down. High increases were also reported in cost of housing (0.9 percent), health (1 percent) and clothing (0.5 percent).
