Exports increased 20.8 percent to USD 31.20 billion from USD 25.82 billion in February 2017, as exports to non-CIS countries advanced 19.6 percent to USD 26.83 billion and those to CIS countries went up 28.8 percent to USD 4.37 billion.
Imports went up at a faster 22.8 percent to USD 19.01 billion from USD 15.48 billion a year earlier. Imports from non-CIS countries climbed 24.1 percent to USD 17.01 billion and those from CIS countries advanced 12.5 percent to USD 1.99 billion.
The trade surplus with non-CIS countries grew 12.6 percent to USD 9.81 billion from USD 8.71 billion a year ago; and with CIS countries it widened 46.5 percent to USD 2.38 billion from USD 1.63 billion.
In the first two months of the year, the trade surplus increased to USD 29.18 billion from USD 22.16 billion in the same period of 2017.
