Euro Area Price Decline Slows


Prices in the Eurozone are expected to fall only 0.1 percent year-on-year in March of 2015, easing from a 0.3 percent drop in February. Energy cost decreased at a slower pace while food prices increased.

Cost of services is expected to grew the most by 1.0 percent (1.2 percent in February), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco 0.6 percent (0.5 percent in February). In contrast, prices of non-energy industrial goods are likely to fall by 0.1 percent (-0.1 percent in February) and cost of energy decline by 5.8 percent (-7.9 percent in February).

Core inflation rate which excludes prices of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco is expected to slow to 0.6 percent from 0.7 percent in the previous month.
