German Inflation Rate Up to 0.3%


Consumer prices in Germany are expected to rise 0.3 percent year-on-year in March, following a 0.1 percent increase in the previous month, as food and energy prices decreased at a slower pace.

According to preliminary estimates, energy prices are likely to fall 5.7 percent, compared to a 7.3 percent drop in February. Food cost is estimated to decline 0.1 percent after decreasing by 0.4 percent in the previous month. In addition, prices of services are expected to slow slightly to 1.2 percent (1.4 percent in February). 

On a monthly basis, consumer prices are estimated to rise 0.5 percent, following a 0.9 percent increase in January. 

The harmonised consumer price index is expected to be up 0.1 percent in March 2015 on the same month a year earlier. Compared with February 2015, it is expected to rise 0.5 percent.
