German Inflation Rate Up to 0.1%


Consumer prices in Germany are expected to rise 0.1 percent year-on-year in February, recovering from a 0.4 percent drop in the previous month, as food and energy prices decreased at a slower pace.

According to preliminary estimates, energy prices are likely to fall 7.3 percent, compared to a 9 percent drop in January. Food cost is estimated to decline 0.4 percent after decreasing by 1.3 percent in the previous month. In addition, prices of services are expected to increase 1.4 percent from 1.2 percent in the previous month. 

On a monthly basis, consumer prices are estimated to rise 0.9 percent, following a 1.1 percent drop. 

The harmonised consumer price index for Germany, is expected to be down 0.1 percent in February 2015 on the same month a year earlier. Compared with January 2015, it is expected to be up 1.0 percent.
