Mexico GDP Growth Slows in Q4


The Mexican economy advanced 0.5 percent on quarter in the three months to December of 2015, slowing from a 0.8 percent expansion in the previous period, final data showed. The figure came below initial 0.6 growth, as industrial and agricultural sectors contracted while services sector growth was unrevised.

The services sector grew 0.9 percent, slowing from a 1.0 percent gain in the previous quarter, final figures showed. 

The industrial sector contracted 0.4 percent, after showing no growth according to preliminary estimates, and a 0.7 percent increase in the previous period. 

Agricultural output fell 1.9 percent, compared to an initial estimate of 1.7 percent drop and lower than 2.5 percent increase in the previous quarter.

On a year-on-year basis, the GDP advanced 2.5 percent, in line with earlier estimates.
