Singapore Economy Grows 5.5% in Q4


In the fourth quarter of 2013, Singapore GDP expanded 5.5 percent compared to a year ago, faster than the advance estimate of 4.4 percent.

In the last quarter of 2013, manufacturing expanded by 7 percent, construction by 4.8 percent and services by 5.9 percent.

For the whole of 2013, the economy grew by 4.1 percent.

On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted annualised basis, the economy expanded by 6.1 percent, a reversal from the 2.7 percent contraction previously announced.
