China Annual Inflation Rate Rises 2.5% in January
China's consumer prices rate held steady at 2.5 percent in January, while producer prices fell 1.6 percent, official data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed.

The inflation rate rose 2.6 percent in the cities and 2.2 percent in rural areas. Food prices went up by 3.7 percent, down from 4.1 percent reported in December, while non-food products index increased by 1.9 percent. Cost of consumer goods was up 2 percent and the prices of services grew by 3.7 percent.
Month-on-month, consumer prices rose 1 percent with the highest increase registered for the cost of food (+2.4 percent).
