Spain GDP Advances 0.8% QoQ in Q4

The Spanish economy advanced 0.8 percent on quarter in the last three months of 2015, the same as in the previous period and in line with market expectations. It is the tenth straight quarter of growth, preliminary estimates showed.

Consumer spending has been the main driver of growth as unemployment keeps falling while tourism revenues have also been contributing strongly to the country's recovery.

Year-on-year, the economy expanded 3.5 percent, better than 3.4 percent in the three months to September and the highest growth rate since 2007.

Considering full 2015, the GDP expanded 3.2 percent, following a 1.4 percent growth in 2014. The government targeted growth of 3.3 percent.
