Armenia Economic Activity Growth at 3-Month High
Armenia's economic activity advanced 7.7 percent year-on-year in October of 2019, following a 7.5 percent surge in the previous month. It was the fastest rise in economic activity since July, led by construction (5.1 percent vs 4.2 percent) and retail trade (10.2 percent vs 7.5 percent). Meanwhile, output growth slowed in industry (2.7 percent vs 11 percent) and services (12.4 percent vs 15.1 percent).
Armenia Economic Activity Rises at a Softer 7.6%
Armenia's economic activity advanced 7.6 percent year-on-year in August 2019, following an upwardly revised 8.3 percent growth in the prior month, as output rose slightly less in construction (3.9 percent vs 4.1 percent in July); retail trade (9.0 percent vs 9.3 percent) and services (15.0 percent vs 15.6 percent). Meanwhile, manufacturing continued to grow solidly (16.8 percent vs 16.1 percent). On a monthly basis, activity rose 7.2 percent, slowing from a 12.8 percent gain in the previous month. Considering the first eight months of the year, economic activity advanced 7.0 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
Armenia Economic Activity Growth Quickens to 8.1%
Armenia's economic activity advanced 8.1 percent year-on-year in July 2019, the most since April, picking up from a 3.4 percent rise in the previous month. Output rose faster for industry (16.1 percent vs 12.8 percent in June); services (14.9 percent vs 10.2 percent); retail trade (9.1 percent vs 6.7 percent) and construction (4.1 percent vs 0.6 percent). In the first seven months of the year, economic activity grew 6.8 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
